Surviving Christmas!

Well I guess Christmas went better than I was expecting it to this year! I had a couple of parties to go to and the food choices were oh so tempting!! I did well in planning though I ate something small before I went, so when I got there I was almost full and limited myself to just a few of the treats that I only get once a year. Going home after getting presents has been the hardest part for me though. My Aunt Kim baked like the devil this year making brownies, rum balls, cinnamon bread, and raspberry bars and oatmeal apple cookies!! I swear it's like attack of the bakery in the house and it all smells and tastes so good that I have to be super careful  as to watch what I actually eat. Not to mention that my gram got over 7 pounds of CANDY for her gifts this year as she is getting older and doesn't really want much else. I look at those boxes covering the counters and have to keep myself from diving head first. I'm thankful that most of it is stuff that I really don't care for which I guess is a real blessing! I have New Years Eve to contend with this weekend, but I'm hoping that I will be able to handle that as well as I did Christmas! My Gram also make a Chocolate Cream Pie for dessert on Christmas Day I'm just thankful I had a small piece and left the rest for my parents to finish, that thing can be the hardest to resist when it is staring up at you from the fridge I can tell you that much!!

Lunar Eclipse!

So it's times like these that I don't mind working the night shift! I got to stay up and see the whole Lunar Eclipse from start to finish it was pretty bad ass not to mention the meteor shower that happened as well midway through!! I caught the whole thing on camera, and I am super excited by that since this event only takes place every 600 years or so it's a once in 6 lifetime kind of event! I hope that everyone who loves this sort of thing got a chance to see it as clearly as I did  here in Daytona Beach.. We had the perfect weather not a single cloud in the sky!!

Sorry about the different sized pictures I started taking them on my cell phone, but finally found my real camera in my car. Then the pics were too big to upload here so I had to crop them all and the sizes ended up different. All in all though I have to say it was a great night to see the Lunar Eclipse, and I hope to see another Solar one as well some time!!

X-Mas Spirit...

So this Christmas Season I have been really down in the dumps. I have been stressed out about work, and starting school again in Jan. My younger brother shipped out for the Persian Gulf at the beginning of the month and will be gone for God knows how long, and no one in my family decorated for X-mas this year except my grandmother. I was really starting to feel like saying screw x-mas altogether this year and just sulking alone.

Thanks to my best friend and my Godson I have seen the error of my ways. Last night we took my godson Key to go see all the houses in different neighborhoods that decorated and did stuff for the Christmas season. We found 2 houses that had decorated to the hilt and even had their lights and decorations flash in time with Christmas music on the radio... my Godson was so happy I couldn't help but finally get into the X-mas mood. On the way home from those 2 houses we stumbled across a whole entire sub division where every house was lit up I'm talking from the roof all the way down to the grass on the lawns were done up. They even had a motorized Santa sleigh with fake reindeer giving rides through the neighborhood so the kids could see all the houses that were lit up It was the coolest thing I have seen all year!

Now that I have my X-mas spirit back I need to make sure I don't let my X-mas appetite take over will all of the parties and goodies that have been passes around I need to remember that even though X-mas only comes around once a year it doesn't give me an excuse to stuff my face and forget about the consequences. So this week I will remember to count all of my points and keep right on tracking in hopes of having another great week on the scales!!

My Godson Isn't he Adorable!!
I don't even want to know what the electric bill is going to cost them :(

I love all the lights there were so pretty! The flashing with the music was kick ass too!!

Big Fat Loser... Is What I am!!

I meant that in the best possible way of course... I'm down 3.4lbs this week!! I officially love the new Points + Program. Not only do I get to eat more then I did before, but I find with free fruit I'm making better choices then I did before. I also think the program being new gave me great motivation as well, instead of tricking myself into thinking I know all the points for something and not really tracking like I should the new program has gotten me back to tracking and looking up Point + Values.

I was worried at the beginning of the week thinking that I was eating too much, and that my point value seemed way to high for me to lose any weight this first week, but even after messing up my weekend a little I still lost a great amount and I feel great. I know not to expect numbers like this each week, but for me the last couple of months with my weight yo-yoing up and down a 3.4 lose is a great number to get me back on track and my head back in the game!! Knowing now that the plan really will work, just like the old one but even better makes me excited all over again to get back to basics and really work hard this time not to let myself slip back into old habits. With this New Year, and New Plan I have really high hopes for this year, and can't wait to see the results a little hard work can pull off!

I'm Down, Down, Down For the Count Baby in the Best Possible Way!!

So Busy!

So this week alone I have had to attend Math Workshops at school, to prepare us for a really hard class that will be coming up in a couple of months. I have to attend Orientation for my new classes on Wed. I have 2 doctors visits scheduled, a hair appointment, and last but not least I have to do some last minute Christmas shopping for some people who I thought were not going to be exchanging gifts but at the last minute decided to! With all of this Chaos and confusion going on I have been trying my best to stay focused and track all my points for the week.

I would have to say that so far I am loving the new Points Plus system I feel like I'm getting to eat more food, and I find I have more energy. I took a peek at the scale a couple of days early and so far I am down.. I'm just hoping that on Thur. WI the scale reads the same way. There were a few times this weekend that I forgot to track my points I'm just hoping that with all the WP we are allowed I didn't go over them..

I have been trying to get in some more AP's this week, but I have only been allowing myself to walk for so long in the cold. The last thing I need now is to get a cold or the flu right before my classes start back up. I still have like 50 AP's left to earn before the 1st of the New Year, so I know I need to find some warm indoor activities that I can do to get those last few Activity Point's in! I have been using my Wii Fit a lot more over the last month and I have found that it really is a great way to get active, but still have a blast while doing it. I'm hoping that I get the new Wii game Just Dance... It looks like a lot of fun, and something that can really get your heart rate up.

Hopefully this week goes by smoothly, and WI is a success if not then I know I really need to be more watchful on the weekends of what I'm cramming down my throat!

Rocking My AP's Challenge!

A couple of months back I set up a challenge for myself to hit 150AP's by the new year... I have almost reached that goal and I can almost taste the victory that is surely ahead! In the past I have always gotten close, but then forgot about the challenge and never finished them... but this time I want it bad! I want to know that I can finish things I set out to accomplish. So I hit the park again today and discovered a couple hidden pathways!!

I felt like Indiana Jones on a mission or something because when I thought I saw a secret pathway through a small clearing in the trees I went exploring and discovered about another mile of pathways behind the immediate park. For you twilight fans I found a place that really reminded me of the meadow where Edward and Bella go to. The sun was shining down on it and through the trees is where I saw the other hidden path. It was silly, but I felt like I had found something most of the other park goers never get to see!

This was the main park I was used to walking through it was so amazing out I love sunny FL day's even if the weather is chilly out!

You can see the Spanish Moss hanging down from the tree here, it's so pretty when you see all the trees surrounding the park with moss hanging low from all of the branches kind  of romantic in a way!

Me getting ready to sweat my butt off even if I was freezing lol...

In that opening back there is where I found the brand new pathways, I really couldn't believe it when I found them It was amazing. My friends said they never even knew there were additional paths behind there either.

This is the path that was behind the clearing it went on for about a mile before it hit the main road on the other side.. Now that I know it's there it's where I will be attempting my running so no one can see my fat butt and laugh!

This park has really become my favorite place to get in my exercise, and I think next time I am there I will be checking out the other side of the park to see if I missed anything over there on that side... I love a little adventure when I work out keeps things so much more interesting!

WW Texting Buddies!

So the other night on the bored an idea was proposed and many of us WW girls jumped on the idea real quick like! We all know we struggle the most throughout the day when no on is there to help us or give us a push to stay on track, so we have decided to all exchange phone numbers and text each other for support and accountability. I woke up this morning to like 5 different messages and it made me smile, its nice to have people to talk to who know what a struggle it is to lose weight and get in shape.. Most of the girls WI today and while some gained others lost so it shows that this new plan we have all started is just going to take some time for everyone's bodies to get used to..

I weigh in on Thursday, and I honestly have no idea what to expect I have stuck to the plan all week long, but It's my TOM right now and I always struggle with losing during that week. Some of the other girls said that their points didn't increase by much and they are not sure if counting fruit as free is a good idea or not. I hope it is because I sure have been eating a lot of it this week!!

I also managed to pry my ass out of bed fairly early this afternoon, and head to the park again. This time the sun was higher in the sky, but the wind was blowing like crazy so this walk was super cold. I also felt a little uncomfortable while I was there because there was a large group of just men there who were all scattered around fishing. I was the only female there and most of the trails or pathways are already pretty quiet and can get spooky if you have an over active imagination like I do lol.  I managed to get in a little over 2 miles today and I earned myself 7AP's!! I have a little less than a month to get up to 150 for the challenge I set myself a couple of months back and I am almost there. Getting AP's in numbers like 7 each day really add up pretty quickly I can't wait for the New Year I will be setting myself a whole new challenge with school starting!!

AP's AP's AP's . . .

So after all the crappy food I ate over the weekend I decided to take a walk this morning, but didn't feel like hitting up my normal walking route. Then I remembered taking my godson to this really awesome park to see the duckies a while back and decided that it would be a perfect spot for my walk!! The sun was out and shining, but it was still chilly out and breezy so I knew I wouldn't die of heat exhaustion. The view is amazing at this park!! There is a huge pond surrounded by these amazing trees that all have this Spanish moss hanging from them and when the sun shines right through them it really looks like rays of heaven or something it's incredible I also saw a couple ducks, and egrets swimming around looking for food, but I didn't get a chance to snap a picture before they wandered off :(

This place was pretty huge, it only took 2 laps around to equal a mile, so I did 4 laps and settled for only 2 today. I had to leave early because they were getting ready to close the roads down for the X-Mas parade, and I was so not getting stuck there for 2 more hours lol.

If you look behind me you can see the rays of sun shining down partially it was so cool to look at while I was walking... It's def. true that having something pretty to look at while working out helps take your mind of the working out part!

This picture was taken on the back part of the path where there are the most trees, it was a little freaky because it was so quiet today not a lot of people were out walking the path, and I felt like if it had been later in the day it would have been the perfect set up for girl gone missing or something lol.

The white pathways lead out to water overlooks, It is really pretty from there that's where I kept seeing all the duckies and egrets trying to get themselves some dinner.

In this picture you can really see how big the place is, this is only the beginning of the pathway once you pass the white building in the distance you still have about a 2/3rd of a mile walk left ahead of you... I love that it's so big though there is so much to look at and enjoy. The weather couldn't have been more perfect, and I earned 6  AP's for my little walk so I really enjoyed it! I plan on walking here at least 3 times a week now, and if I start to get bored with this place I will switch parks up for a bit. I just love finding new motivation for working out though it can be so hard to just get up and go sometimes!

Goals For Tomorrow:
* Get Some Needed Sleep!
* Stay OP & Track Everything!
* Grocery Shop, (Running out of Fruit :( )

December!

Well it doesn't seem even remotely possible that it could be December already, but alas it is and the weather is reflecting that here majorly at the moment. Living in FL your just not used to the temps being in the 30-40 at night. I'm currently sitting here at work wasting 4 points on hot chocolate to keep my insides toasty while sitting in a semi- ice cube of a room. I can't believe over 2 years has pasted since I joined WW, and I'm still 90 pounds from goal. I just guess it goes to show you that when you slack off for months at a time you get NOWHERE!

I am glad that with the new plan I have re-commited and have found myself tracking accurately everyday. I like the fact that my points increased by quite a few, but then I guess when food points doubled it was necessary. I have exactly 1 month until I begin taking my core classes for my DMS degree, and I really would love to lose another 5-10 pounds before I have to buy my scrubs for class. That is def. one of my major goals for this months as well as making sure I stick with the new plan and don't give up on myself. The next year for me will probably be the busiest I have ever had. With being in classes 5 days a week for 8 hours and working 8 hours each night, time for friends, homework, and life will be very limited to say the least.

I guess it's all about the planning just like with WW I will need to plan out my time for friends and school as well. I know it will be worth it in the future even if I have to suffer and sacrifice now I will be much better off for it later after I have graduated and can get a great job. I guess for now I better enjoy what time I have left with the Holiday's and get my mind set ready for the next years that's to come. I hope with the stress of school and work I won't let my WW slip or become forgotten. I might only be down 50 pounds now instead of the 75 I was, but I never want to see myself at my starting weight ever again that was the most awful time for me and I never want to be that person again!  I won't let myself become that person again!

New Plan Day 2!

So I must admit today went a lot smoother than yesterday went. First off I made sure I planned out my meals better for the day so I knew by tonight I wouldn't end up with 17 points left over like I had yesterday. This morning I had an 11 point breakfast which helped put a dent into my dailies. I also planned on making pasta for dinner which I knew even using Whole Wheat pasta was still going to cost me some Dailies because of the about of carbs being consumed. Here is a look and breakdown of how I spent my points today, and if you notice I even managed to get in 2 AP's this morning with a little mini workout before I had to head into school for the day!

For my pasta sauce I added Shredded Cheese, along with fresh garlic, green bell pepper, and minced onion. I calculated the pasta points with the cheese points included it's just easier for me to lump things together given the amount of ingredients I use when I cook. So at the end of today I managed to reach all of the goals I set for myself yesterday... I got in my Dairy, I Ate almost all of my DP's, I got in a Multi-Vitamin, and I even got in a bonus mini workout!! Overall I would say I had a pretty successful day I just hope tomorrow goes as well.

Goals For Tomorrow-

* Earn at least 4-AP's
* Get in all of my GHG's
* Track all of my points!

NEW PLAN AHHH!

So the new plan started for me this morning, and after reading everything the website had to offer about the new plan I new it was def. time I head into a meeting and get all the facts. I plan on going in on Thursday my normal WI day to get all the new info, but for now I tried my best to get the new hang of things. Here is what's changed for me on the new plan:

ProPlus Allowance Daily- 41
Old Points Allowance- 33
New Weekly ProPlus Allowance- 49
Old Weekly Point Allowance- 35

ProPlus Fruits/Veggies Value- 0 !!
Old Fruits/Veggie Value- 0-3 depending

So I took a couple of Screen Shots of my Tracker for today, and as you will see by the end of today I had 17 points left over even after the stuff I brought to work with me to eat overnight! I guess I didn't realize how much I counted for fruits and veggies before. With all of these left over points I did realize that I didn't get in any dairy today, but I hit almost all my other GHG's and still was short... I will def. have to plan better, because while I like having a few points left to play around with at the end of the day 17 is just to many to do me any good.

I really made a mess of this first day, and while I ate pretty well I do see that I need to add in Dairy on a daily basis which I normally do, but I'm out of milk and cheese at the moment. I also forgot to take my multi-vitamin today, and didn't get in a workout :( So while I may still have this many points left over for the day I know I need to focus more on getting all my GHG's completed during the day, and really plan my weeks out better from now on. This new program will take a bit of getting used to but I think I will really like it once I have all the facts and have more time to get into things. Today was basically a throw whatever I had left in the fridge into my tummy day.

My Goals for Tomorrow:

* Eat all points
* Get in all my GHG's
* Take Multi-Vitamin

BLACK FRIDAY... OR NOT!

Okay, so everyone I know always gets so hyped up about the deals and specials they find on Black Friday, but honestly for myself I get some amazing shopping done way before Thanksgiving even comes around. Like this year I am currently at work while others have been sitting in a cold parking lot waiting for the doors to open and for hundreds of crazy people to thrown them down so they can get that flat screen TV before anyone else does. To me that just seems CRAZY! If I wanted to be killed and squished in a stampede I would go to the Zoo and start opening the cages to let the real animals out.

This year I bought my friend a grill that was on sale about a week ago, and the deal I got was even better then it would have been this morning. I bought my godson a whole SpongeBob Bedding Set and matching Curtains at a really great price seeing as it's such a popular gift item this year. My secret... Shopping Online!! A lot of people don't like to shop online because they think it's unreliable, but I use AMAZON.COM and love it. I found some really amazing Black Friday deals online while sitting home and enjoying my night off a couple of days ago.

I guess I just really wanted to say that you don't have to kill yourself to get a good deal on Holiday Items and gifts if you look around online, and even in stores a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving you can really find some great stuff for really great prices, and save yourself a limb or two by not having to fight the swarming masses at 3am the day after Thanksgiving. I'm glad to say that all of my Holiday shopping has been done for over a week, and now I can just sit back and enjoy the next couple of weeks instead of stress over last minute present ideas.

Meetings Meetings Meetings!

Today I stumbled across my old WW meeting book, where they have all the stamps from when you got weighed in. Looking back at how Amazing I did when attending meetings got me to realize that I have been majorly fooling myself if I think I can do this plan strictly online. While I love all the girls on the boards I don't have anyone to be truly accountable to when I weigh myself in at home. I change the WI dates all the time, and the time of day I weigh myself in at. All of those things make for inaccurate measurements. The last weight I had recorded at a meeting was 236.6 which had me down 50 pounds with WW at that point and 75 in total from my highest weight ever.

When I looked at that and saw all of my 5 pound stars that I had earned it made me want to cry almost because I knew that I was now back up to 265 which means I have seriously screwing myself over, and I don't think I really would have stopped myself unless I saw those numbers in that little book. I have decided that as of this week whether it is 30 dollars more then just online program I have to get back to the meetings. The people there have great ideas and tips, and I also feel myself wanting to impress others and myself each week when I attend the meetings. I had originally stopped going to them because my school schedule got crazy, and I didn't have the extra 40 a month to go, but now that I think about it I spend 40 dollars a month on bullshit things I don't even need so I will be able to pay for this if I really need to. I also was using the excuse of school to not go to meetings, when honestly I can just change the day and time of my meeting to fit my schedule. So here from my mouth to God's ears I will be attending a meeting this Friday to learn about the new plan WW has started, and by this time next Friday I will have a loss in that book again..

If I keep with my meetings, and keep up with my exercise I know I can kick this weight problem in the ass. I will no longer be using money and school as a reason not to get back on track and start losing again! I can do it this time!

Today's Points and AP Stats-

Daily's Consumed- 31/33 (First Time all week I had any leftovers!!

AP's- 3.5 Short Walk This Morning!! (First one all week!)

VENT!

Okay, so for the last 2 weeks I have been running around like a chicken with it's head cut off. First was my parents 25th wedding anniversary party I hosted 2 days later it was my grandfathers 75th birthday party, and then a couple of days after that we did Early Turkey day for my brother while he was home. I thought I had done pretty well with counting points and eating okay, and last weeks scale visit was a pleasant one, but after today sneaking a peek I think last week went horrible and it's all catching up to me now!! I know your weight fluctuates between 1 and 5 pounds a day so I could be off by some, but as of this mornings early peek I am up 6 pounds... ***Shakes head*** I thought my eyes were gonna pop out of their sockets when I saw that this morning. I had assumed with all my running around and being more active then normal it would help burn off some of the extra calories I ate, so I have not gotten in a decent workout since last week sometime.

As I write this I am making a vow to get off my lazy ass in the morning come hell or high water, put on my walking shoes and get in at least 2 miles if not more. I used to walk every morning, and come racing home to count up all my AP's and eat a healthy breakfast before bed. It seems as of late though I am very tired in the mornings and just give up on even the thought of walking. I really can't afford to have this set back I am already working on losing the weight I had gained back now I will be even farther behind. I honestly don't know why I screw myself over like this, but it's going to STOP NOW!!

I have a little over a month before I go back to class, so I am setting a small goal. I want to work out at least 3 times a week, and I want to have lost 10 pounds and have kept it off before the New Year. It may not seem like a good goal to some, but it is doable for me when I stay on track and get in my workouts the problems is I have been letting my self yo-yo back and forth and it's doing more damage then good.

I will keep my blog updated each day as to my point consumption and my workout efforts for the day. I have been letting this slide to long and it's time to take back control of my life once and for all!!

Early Turkey Day!!

Thanksgiving is a big Holiday in my family, we all love to get together and celebrate every year. This year however my younger brother got to come home on leave from the Navy so we decided to do Turkey Day early since he will be heading out before the actual day. The normal tradition for the last 15 years or so is for me and my father to get up at the crack of dawn and start cooking while my brother and mother sleep in. Personally I like it like this I get to spend quality time with my dad, and that way we keep the amount of cooks down to just 2 in the kitchen instead of 4 lol.

This year we found a 21 pound bird, and I must say after we got it home we had to admit it must have been the misfit in the bunch because it's neck socket was slightly crooked, his legs were short and stumpy, and he had a huge long neck. My dad had grabbed all the giblets out to boil them and later we found a second neck piece still inside it!! As always we rubbed our Turkey down with lots of soft butter, Stuffed him with the best homemade stuffing, then shoved his butt into brown bags which we then placed in the oven and baked until he was golden brown and delicious!!

Making the Stuffing is what got me really into Thanksgiving in the first place, when I was little my dad's mom always cooked dinner and she always let me help her make the stuffing. Over the years my dad took her place and it's become the part I look forward to the most each year.  Personally to me if the stuffing sucks then the day is ruined. We use bread cubes, celery, onion, jimmy dean sausage, sage, poultry seasoning and a couple other key ingredients. Over the years we have changed a couple of the side dishes we make, but in all the years we have never changed our stuffing recipe. It came out amazing this year, and I have to admit stuffing it into the bird is what really gives it the best flavor!!

Next we took our Rutabagas and peeled them and got them on the stove to boil, while we started the candied yams!! Those are always the best and even though they were a little more mashed then we normally liked them by the time they cooked all the way through the flavors were AMAZING!! My dad used Orange juice concentrate, nutmeg, brown sugar and some other goodies to make this dish.. the only picture I have is when we first started them, but if you look on my last pic of the whole plate you will see how dark they get from all the sugar!!

RUTABAGAS !!! SO YUMMY WHEN COOKED!!

CANDIED YAMS!!

While all of this cooking was going on our two dogs, Harley and Jitters where freaking out because they knew that as soon as we had eaten they were going to get the giblets we had boiled earlier that morning for the gravy... Here is a picture of Jitter looking at me wondering if it was time yet lol..

After all the cooking I decided that, since I hadn't eaten anything all day long I was going to take a little bit of everything we cooked... Well my plate got to be really full, but halfway through I was so stuffed I ended up not being able to eat it all. I'm just glad I took home some stuff for leftovers they really are the best part of all that cooking!!! So damn good, and the best part this year was I had my brother home to enjoy it with us even if he does have to ship back out!  Here is a picture with all of the food we made... Normally there is way more of a variety, but it was only immediate family this year and not our normal crowd of 30 or so lol.. I was going to make a homemade pumpkin pie, but unfortunately I didn't have enough time to get it ready before today, so we settled on a pre-made one which was okay. At least now I have something to aim for next year making my own!!

The orange/yellow looking pile on the plate is what the Rutabagas look like when they have been cooked down and mashed they were so yummy it's the one dish me and my dad fight about for left overs!! You can also see how the Candied yams browned right up after cooking in the brown sugar and other goodies!! I mixed white meat with my favorite dark meat, and the gravy was awesome!! Overall Thanksgiving was great this year, and I look forward to doing it all over again next year hopefully at my own place!

Great Weekend!!

So this weekend started early for me I took off Thursday from work, so I could host my parents 25th wedding anniversary party. We had a bunch of family and friends over to celebrate with them, and threw a dinner party. I knew going into this weekend that there was going to be a lot of food going on, and that I was going to have to be very careful with my points. To my delight everything ran very smoothly, and I even managed to stay pretty on track. For my parents anniversary dinner we made stuffed chicken breasts with broccoli and cheese, mashed potatoes, stuffing, mixed baked beans, and corn. Since I hadn't gotten a chance to eat earlier in the day I managed to eat with in my points range even with having a slice of their Raspberry Decadence cake which was topped with cream cheese frosting!!!

So after my parents party, we had my grandfathers 75th Birthday party to throw. We surprised him and has some of his friends fly in from NY for the party which turned out to be a great success!! For the party I made 75 assorted cupcakes and I am proud to say out of the 75 I only ate 2 and not even on the same day! I also made a pasta salad that had everything but the kitchen sink in it.

Pasta Salad Contents:
Tri-Colored Spiral Pasta
Cucumbers
Grape Tomatoes (Halved)
Black Olives
Sharp Yellow and White Cabbot Cheese
R,Y,G Bell Peppers
Italian Seasoning Packet
Balsamic Vinagrette Dressing
Balsamic/Italian Robusto Dressing

It tasted very good, even though it was a little pointy for my normal day I had saved up my weeklies for this party. I also made mixed baked beans which were so yummy (cant post recipe though it's my grams). Overall the party was a lot of fun my brother was in town on leave from the Navy which made things that much better for us all. I don't know about all family's but in mine we are very close and food can sometimes be equated with love. It's hard being on WW and having big events like this so close together, but for the most part this weekend was a blast and I managed to control my eating habits and count my points. I do have to get in a couple workouts this week if I plan on having any points left for the upcoming days but it was def. worth it for all the fun we had! I just hope that the scale will agree with me this Thursday!!!
My Gramps in his Superhero undies, getting ready to blow out 74 cupcakes.... someone ate one early can you believe that!!!!

Me, Gramps, and my Brother Mike... ( Don't you just love his Birthday Attire!!)

I'm just glad that this weekend went as well as it did, not many people can say that they have been married for 25 years or have live to be 75 I'm very lucky to be blessed with great family, and if it means sparing a few points to celebrate with them than it is def. worth it to me! I can always get my workout on later in the week to make up for it!!

Food 4 A Cold Day!

This morning was even colder than yesterday!!! I was actually shivering when I walked into the house this morning after work, Thank God the heat was on, and I made it to the kitchen to run my hands under some warm water. I don't believe on running the heat in my car it just seems a crazy thing to have to do in FL ya know? Anyway I decided to have something warm and filling to eat before bed, and wasn't really in the mood for oatmeal so I made some pancakes (yummy) :) I made 3 small pancakes and lightly spread some butter and syrup on them. I only got 2 of them down before I was stuffed so I'm glad I saved a point there lol. Just to let you know the size of the plates that I take most of my pictures on are the size of a small Frisbee. I don't want anyone here thinking that these plates are huge I just take close up pics of all the meals I make.

For lunch I decided I didn't feel like making anything special since I wasn't feeling very energetic, so I popped a blasted TV dinner in the oven. I know they are not very point friendly and the Mac and Cheese one I popped in is probably worse since there was no veggies with it, but every now and then I need some comfort food and this really did the trick for me!

I decided to take a regular sandwich to work with me tonight, not one on my typical sandwich thins. So I made Chicken Salad with a borrowed can of Chicken from my mom's place (THANKS MOM) and added some cut of celery and light mayo. I put it on 15 grain Oatmeal bread which I love. Even though it's more point's the I would normally like to use on a sandwich I had quiet a few point's to spare today so everything worked out well. I also brought along a bottle of water, a Lemon Lime Jello cup. Some ruby Red Grapefruit and Pineapple chunks along with a Nutri-Grain bar gave me my daily fruit intake and for a sweet I brought along a really yummy 100 calorie pack of Chocolate Mint cookie thins!!!

I also decided to by pop pop's at the store today as my godson likes to call them. I have been having a really bad sore throat over the last few days' and wanted something cool to eat. These pop pop's might look like they should only be for kids but they taste amazing and are FAT FREE with only 40 Cals. in them and added Vitamin C!! My personal favorite out of the box is the Hulk one's but they others taste just as great. The fact that they are made with real fruit juice is a plus, and they even come with a little joke on the stick for those of use who like a little entertainment while we eat!! All in all today was a pretty good food day I stayed within my points, but I do need to work on making sure I'm getting in all my GHG's I noticed I missed some of them the last couple of day's that will have to be my goal for the next couple of days!

Back to Food!

So this morning when I got off work it was a whopping 47 degrees outside... I know for most of you that doesn't seem very cold, but here in FL we don't get weather like this very often. Being that cold it made my breakfast choice really easy on me. I went home and pulled out a packet of Blueberry Oatmeal and heated it up with milk instead of water. I find it helps get in my dairy servings on day's I don't plan on drinking milk or getting it in any other way. The oatmeal was yummy, hot, and very filling. When I eat something like that in the morning before I go to sleep I know I won't end up waking up starving a few hours later ya know.

For Lunch I decided that I wanted to indulge a little, and make myself a grilled cheese which I hardly ever make anymore since I started WW. The cheese and the bread can get a little pointy if your not careful, but today I had the extra points and was willing to spend them on the ooey gooey goodness. It was well worth it I might add. I used a 15 grain oatmeal bread and added a little touch of spicy brown mustard to my sandwich like my parents always used to do when I was a kid. It was so YUMMY!

For dinner I made pork chop, half a baked potato and some sweet whole kernel corn. I took a picture of the whole pork chop which I shake and baked, but I only ate half of it while the other half sits in the fridge and waits for tomorrow. I remember the days when I used to be able to eat 2 pork chops for dinner and have room for dessert now I'm glad that the sight of a whole pork chop scares me off! Everything tasted amazing, and I was very full when I left for work tonight. To work I brought a salad to get in some more veggies for the day, and to take care of my sweet tooth I brought a lemon lime SF Jello cup. I have been on a real grapefruit kick as of late so I added in some of that as well and a 100 calorie pack of Oreo Cakesters!!

My brother will be coming home this week and I am so excited. It will def. me a struggle while he is home on leave, because my family is celebrating my parents 25th wedding anniversary along with my grandfathers 75th birthday party an early thanksgiving, and I have a funeral dinner to attend. My brother has always been really supportive of me trying to lose weight and I want to show him that I have things under control now, I just hope I can keep it together while he is here and show him that I am dedicated to making myself healthy and that I can resist temptation now!! I hope this week goes well and I'm sure will all the events going on I will have tons of new pics to post!
